The Cabin

Framed ocean vistas, a queen-sized bed you'll want to linger in, and the sound of the sea, make this a great place to sleep. Open the curtains to watch the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean, make a coffee and head back to bed with a good book.

Practical info:
Linen, feather duvet and an extra woolen blanket supplied.
Plenty of storage for clothes and hangers.
Electric blankets and hot water bottles provided for cooler nights.
Reading lights, bedside tables and power sockets next to your bed.

Put your feet up in the replica Eames chair and ottoman or sink into the leather armchair. The Little Flick wood fire keeps things cosy on cooler nights, while the tall, custom-made hardwood sliding doors can be opened wide to let the summer breeze in.

The kitchenette may be compact, but it’s well equipped with an under-bench fridge, a two-burner gas hob, quality pots, pans and crockery, cooking utensils, and the all-important coffee and plunger. You should find everything you need to prepare simple meals during your stay.

Please note: there’s no oven, dishwasher or microwave.

We’ve stocked the essentials to help you settle in, including muesli, milk, tea, ground coffee and a French press for your morning brew. You’ll also find olive oil and balsamic vinegar for easy meals, plus marshmallows for toasting over the outdoor fire.

The generous bathroom opens to the living area and bedroom, with a separate, private toilet. It features double stone basins, a rainhead shower with a sea-view window, a skylight and ecostore toiletries.

Hands down, this is the best seat in the house . Sink into the bath and let the warmth and Epsom salts do their magic as you soak up intimate views of Port Robinson and the Pacific beyond.

It takes around 2 hours to heat, so get the fire stoked and settle into the ritual of tending the flames as the water warms. Firewood and Epsom salts are provided.

The back deck is made for easy outdoor meals, with a Weber gas BBQ, stone sink and outdoor dining. When dinner’s done, move to the outdoor fireplace for toasted marshmallows or a jaffle cooked over the flames. Firewood and BBQ utensils are provided, so all you need to bring is your appetite.

There’s room to stretch out, follow the sun and enjoy the fresh air. Try your hand at archery, set up a game of croquet, relax in the swing or find a quiet spot to sit and watch the ocean. The grounds are private and peaceful, with plenty of space to wander, read or simply do very little.

There's no TV in the cabin. Instead, you'll find board games, cards and books for quiet evenings or rainy days, plus a USB speaker for your favourite playlist.

Wi-Fi is available when you need to stay connected, although the cabin is also a lovely place to switch off.
